The Systems Engineer position is responsible for analyzing business communications and processing issues to implement and improve overall communications systems and underlying computer systems. Systems Engineers are required to utilize their technical skills, communication skills, and knowledge to analyze user requirements, requests, procedures, and problems to improve existing systems and resolve issues in accordance with organization expectations. Specific duties of the position include the following:

  • Test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot communications systems and related computer system infrastructure, including occasional assistance with deployment and installation of new communications programs and systems.
  • Assess communication systems issues and malfunctions to timely restore normal functioning
  • Adhere to company processes and procedures regarding timeliness, customer service, and analysis methods.

  • Assess the usefulness of pre developed application packages and communications systems and adopt them to a user environment
  • Analyze existing systems and processing needs and plan, design, and troubleshoot communications systems using techniques such as structured analysis and communication engineering.
  • Maintain current vendor certifications.
  • Communicate and accelerate all escalations to Senior Management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in computer information sciences, communications/electronics engineering or a related field and 10 years progressively responsible experience as a systems engineer or related required. Experience must include the following specific experience and abilities:

1) 10 years of Alcatel voice experience
2) ALE ACFE OmniPCX Enterprise certification
3) ALE ACFE OpenTouch certification
4) Alcatel Session Border Controller installation, configuration, and Level 3 troubleshooting experience
5) AVST voicemail experience

Description:

We are searching for an experienced and qualified candidate to provide Level III IT Support and Break/Fix resolution. Additional duties include installation of new equipment and services. We are searching for a team player who is willing to deliver exceptional service in a hybrid role providing remote support and on-site support as needed. Dice MSP is currently seeking a Level 2 Engineer to join our team and be part of a growing Managed Service Provider firm. The ideal Level 2 Engineer candidate for this position will have at least 1 year of experience deploying and supporting small-to-medium business environments, including servers, networking, virtualization, and cloud. The Senior Level Engineer will be assisting with projects and solutions implementations as well as support.  This position is in the Omaha office.

Job Description

Responsible for the overall management, planning, scheduling, and implementation of assigned Enterprise Installations. As Project Manager, you will work closely with the Customer to ensure all goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are achieved with a high degree of accuracy and quality. This is accomplished by directing an agile project team of Sales, Engineers, Procurement, Service, and Finance partners. Project Managers are expected to follow a detailed process flow of every phase of the Project. The Project Manager is responsible for the organization all engineers and sub-contractors involved, orchestrating schedules of all installers, and knowing the purchasing and invoicing details for every project assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison to ensure all complaints, project issues, change requests, and invoicing discrepancies are promptly addressed

About the role: Level 1 Voice Systems Engineer

Assist the Installation and Implementation team in maintaining our key role of being a valued and trusted technology partner to our enterprise clients through effective installation and support of voice systems and applications.

Essential functions include the following:

  • Support Alcatel VoIP infrastructure and applications, including IP-PBXs, voice mails, call management systems and unified communications.
  • Answer customer calls, providing excellent customer service and first call resolutions.
  • Collaborate to resolve trouble tickets and mitigate end-user issues with VoIP hardware and/or applications.
  • Assist with the installation planning of network cabling, including MDF and IDF closets. Ensure the highest level of security and availability for core and branch networking systems.
  • Maintain knowledge base and procedural documentation.
  • Support engagements in a continuous cross-training environment.
  • Continuous learning and certifications for certain relevant technology platforms and disciplines are expected for this position. Employer-paid training is available. (Restrictions apply)

Skills required to perform job responsibilities:

  • Strong Windows and Linux OS knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of SIP, H.323, TCP/IP protocol suite and ability to troubleshoot.
  • Experience with VMWare, Linux KVM, Hyper-V is a plus.
  • Experience installing and configuration Session Border Controllers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cabling and wiring systems, design, and installation.
  • Experience with administering telecommunications systems and applications.
  • ACFE OmniPCX Enterprise or ACFE OpenTouch certification is a plus.

Resident Engineer Role Description:

The Resident Engineer (RE) provides onsite expertise on Alcatel-Lucent Network solutions to a specific customer, adding value to the day-to-day operations of the customer environment, safeguarding the value of the customer’s solution by sustaining its full functionality and its benefit to the enterprise.

The RE helps customers by reinforcing the performance of their network, ensuring smooth daily operations, and the stability needed for return on investment and permanence of the advantages offered by the solution.

Key Responsibilities include:

  •  High level and low level design definition
  •  Provision and/or configure new/additional Alcatel-Lucent Network equipment to be deployed at the customer site
  •  Define and detail migration strategies and processes
  •  Physical deployment of Alcatel-Lucent Network equipment
  •  New feature or compatibility testing
  •  Preventive maintenance for hardware and software
  •  Troubleshoot network issues
  •  Manage RMA of suspected faulty hardware and keep detailed records of all such activities
  •  Problem escalation and tracking within DCI Technical Support Organization
  •  Mentor for customer technical resources
  •  Keep DCI Sales and System Engineers aware of key activities and projects occurring at customer location
  •  Provide monthly report to customer of all activities completed and pending during previous month


Qualifications:

Location and Hours:

  • Full time on customer premise
  • Normal business hours – Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time
  • RE will often have to work outside of normal business hours (nights and weekends) or work in excess of 8 hours on any day or 40 hours in any week or on holidays (collectively, “Afterhours Work”). Comp time will be provided for the additional hours worked and will be coordinated between RE, Dice Communications, and Customer.
